It is, with your support, a first in a series of smaller, narrative driven experiences, that spare no expense on audio-visual style and try to tell believable, real stories through engagement, dark humor and fun. - 4PM is a short experiential game, where you lead a character through several different scenes/locations during a day, each with its own, unique gameplay, adding to a bigger story - 4PM is a cinematic experience aimed at people interested in interactive story-telling, but without the complexities and reflex based natures of classic games - 4PM doesn’t have an inventory system, health bars, or any other distracting elements, it pulls you into this story and puts you in the shoes of the character. You are Caroline, you live her day, and you have to make some big decisions which will change the outcome of the game - 4PM will try to create an interesting blend between linear, cinematic stories and interactive gameplay Note: This is not a typical, mechanics driven game, it is a short, interactive story with gameplay elements. The majority of the game is spent reminding you that the character is an alcoholic, in cartoonish ways that ultimately go against the fragment of a story that they're trying to tell. I understand that this is a student project from a film school, but there's not enough here to be a satisfying story, or experience.. Don't buy this game.Maybe a few years down the line Bojan Brbora will be able to deliver a great storytelling experience. 4PM is not that. As far as I'm aware it was his student project at the National Film and Television School in the UK. That's so blatantly obvious throughout my stint with this game.It's 30 minutes long, with bad writing and voice acting. The two gameplay sequences are frustrating with most of my playtime coming from failing them a few times. The story's premise isn't inherently bad but the short length forces it to unfold in a half-baked way that just seems absurd and the "twists" are unearned. By the time the credits were rolling (which are actually probably one of the best parts), I was just laughing at how completely inane at what transpired in the past half hour.Visually there's a decent aesthetic with this almost-blur but it's ruined with quite low quality and badly designed assets. It's an indie game, I know, but the character models are so deep in the uncanny valley it's kinda scary at times (seriously that boss guy aaaaa). Sound quality varies but voice acting is middling to terrible. Sound effects sound mostly stock so they rarely sound like they actually fit. The subtitles have grammatical errors in them occasionally which is nitpicky but come on.There's a decent message hidden under 4PM, and some interesting themes. It's just not a well made product. Give this man more money and a more talented team to produce a longer story and he'll be miles better than David Cage. That's faint praise, I know.P.S. Press Q to be a white girl and go "WOOOOOOO WOOOOO WOOOOOOOOO". If only this had Heavy Rain's "JAAAASON" glitch and you could do that at any time.. This game. Yeah, cinematic and all that.It appears to be quite serious about its subjects (alcoholism, one night stands in clubs – you name it) but, really, it has quite the shoddy approach to it, falling apart quite spectacularly on its 20-minute mark finale.Buy this game only if it's a matter of life and death (and that would require a pretty big justification) or if you just like throwing cash at your screen – that's an hobby too!. Extremely disappointed, I swear I finished this game in 10-15 minutes or so. I feel there was so much more to the story, but it seems there wasn't, it kind of just skipped to the credits.Graphics were oddly power hungery for not a lot of details, as well as many visual elements flicking or see-through hair.Overall, disappointed, thought it would be good, but it wasn't.. Inconsistent, jerky, boring, poor acting, writing and planning.. Wow. Truly awful in every sense of the word. The only thing good about it was the start, then it was all downhill from there.. Very confusing and short gameplay
